BEAUTYCON NYC 2015

A couple of months ago I had the opportunity of attending BeautyCon NYC for the first time! I found out I was going just a week before the event so, I was going crazy trying to find an outfit that was both something that I liked and something comfortable; to be walking in for a few hours. BeautyCon was a bit different from what I expected and although I had lots of fun, I felt like it was a little too commercial. Maybe I had a different idea in mind but honestly, that's what these conventions are about: shopping for products that haven't been released yet and getting discounts that you can only find there. It's also worth mentioning that I am not one to collect lots of things. You should all see my makeup collection, it is minimal! Perhaps for being a Youtuber it can't even be considered a collection lol! So you'd definitely not see me running after the latest beauty product available; I try to have what I need but I confess, sometimes I indulge. I guess when you put it all together it makes sense that I'm not so much into events like BeautyCon however, I had a great time, there's no doubt about that. Another component to this event, which is something you don't see at every event, like IMATS for example, is that you get to see panels in which youtubers and bloggers talk about how to start and stay in the blogosphere. Also, there are different kinds of tickets available for purchase, some more expensive than others, which therefore grant you access to more activities. As you could have expected, I only bought one item. Not only did I not have any specific product in mind but also the lines were really long! The only brand I really wanted to try out was Tarte which by the way had really good discounts, but none of the products of the selection they had a that moment was something I really needed. Some other brands like Shea Moisture, Physicians Formula and Carols' Daughter had complimentary samples available. Other brands like Wen, were offering a full size sample but unfortunately, when I stopped by their booth they had run out of samples to give. I watched a lot videos about BeautyCon prior to attending and thats probably why I expected to come out of there with bags full of products to try lol. You have to be ready to shop! So my recommendation to you all or t least those planning on attending BeautyCon is to do some research. Find to which brands and youtubers you like will be attending. Prepare you wish lists and save some money to take advantage of the discounts, only of course, if there are any really good ones and your budget allows :)
